What CP_a010 means

CP_a010 means your Tesla cannot communicate with the charging station. This is often the charger not your car. The charging protocol requires a handshake — when this fails you get CP_a010.

What to do

✓ Try a different charger before assuming it is a vehicle issue. This is frequently a faulty charging station.

Try a different charger stall — Move to a different Supercharger stall. If error disappears the original charger was faulty.

Unplug and replug firmly — Disconnect completely wait 30 seconds then reconnect firmly.

Reboot the vehicle — Perform soft reboot while connected to charger.

Try different charging network — If all stalls at one location fail try ChargePoint or Electrify America.

Contact Tesla if problem follows — If CP_a010 appears at multiple different chargers schedule vehicle service.
